Lafayette Aviators Announce 2016 Coaching Staff Additions

HITTING AND INFIELD COACH ANNOUNCED

Lafayette, IN-March 3, 2016 - The Aviators announced today the addition of its Hitting and Infield coaches. Ryan Dineen and Austin Bryant join the Lafayette Aviators as the new Hitting and Infield coaches, respectively. Dineen, an Eastern Illinois University college graduate, is currently a graduate assistant at McKendree University. Prior to his time at Mckendree, Dineen spent two years as a member of the Houston Astros' minor league system. He was a 25th round selection by the Astros in the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Players Draft. In addition to serving as the hitting coach, Dineen will serve as the third base coach for the Aviators. Bryant comes to the Aviators after finishing his playing career at Middle Tennessee State University. Bryant is a former Prospect League player having donned a Danville Dans uniform in 2014 where he played under Aviators Field Manager Brent McNeil. Bryant will coach first base and lead defensive instruction.

"First, it’s an honor to be coaching for the Aviators in historic Loeb Stadium in a great league. Second, I really look forward to getting with the players, developing them, and going on to win some ball games for Aviators fans." said Dineen.

Bryant comes to the Aviators after finishing his playing career at Middle Tennessee State University. Bryant is a former Prospect League player having donned a Danville Dans uniform in 2014 where he played under Aviators Field Manager Brent McNeil. Bryant will coach first base and lead defensive instruction. McNeil will personally handle the Aviator pitching staff.

"I'm extremely excited to get to Lafayette and start the season. It is a tremendous honor to be a part of the inaugural campaign and to start the journey of bringing home our first Prospect League championship.” stated Bryant.

“I am excited and really confident in both of my assistant coaches we have hired. I have history with both of these guys in the game of baseball and I think that's an important part knowing your staff well. With their knowledge & experience at the highest level of college baseball as well as Dineen's pro experience with the Astros, I think the players can really look forward to learning a lot from these guys.” said Aviators Field Manager Brent McNeil.
